Sigma 4.5mm F2.8 EX DC Circular FishEye HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) Lens

By Arlene Whiting

Sigma has come up with a true fisheye optic for crop sensors, projecting a circular 180 degree image onto APS-C sensors. Some of the lens features are that it will produce a circular image within the frame, has a focal length of 4.5mm and maximum aperture of f/2.8 making it ideal for low light photography.

The Sigma 4.5mm has minimum focusing distance of 13.5cm and a maximum magnification of 1:6. The SLD glass minimizes color aberration and equipped with HSM and full-time manual focus override. Equisolid angle projection is also useful for art/scientific use along with being useful for astrophotography and scientific applications. Sigma’s Multi-Layer coating minimizes flare and ghosting. This lens is also equipped with an inner focusing system that creates high definition and good image quality over the whole frame. The HSM also allows for full-time manual focus override by rotation of the focus ring along with its fast and quite autofocusing. This lens can also be used for solid angle measurements of cloud distribution/vegetation distribution of the forest.
